Gronk and Brady | The Reunion

Is this the biggest shock and team change in sports history? One all time Quarterback leaving the only team he has ever know, teaming up with a "retired" former teammate to try and win together in a new location, Tampa Bay.

Now I am not the biggest NFL fan, hockey is my sport, but I do follow all sports closely because I love competition. There is no denying that Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. If you are a patriots fan, you love him. If you are a fan of any other team, you hate his guts; there is no middle ground at all. Coming from the outside, as I have no favorite team and honestly do not care who ever wins the super bowl, people are jealous of his greatness. Let us look at the stats shall we to prove my point.

6 Super bowl Wins

541 Touchdown passes

74,571 passing yards

3 regualr season Mvp's

4 Super Bowl Mvp's

Married to a supermodel

Yeah, I would say jealousy is a major factor here.

Now lets move on to the other player I am talking about in this historic team up, Rob Gronkowski. First off he is a physcial freak of nature. He is 6'6" and 270lbs , he is super strong, a fantastic blocker, and a great pass catcher that creates major mathcup nightmares for the other team. He did retire because his body was beat up from all of the injuries during his football career, but I think the year off let his body heal and his thirst to win came back too. Now he does have a pretty extensive injury history, but he is still relatively young so if he can stay healthy I think he will have a big year. Playing home games in the warm weather of Florida will help greatly too.

Having a former multiple super bowl winner and MVP switch teams isn't unprecendented. However, that guy teaming with a player of Gronk's caliber that is coming out of retirement, I think is. It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the course of the 2020 season. They both are playing for a different coach and system from the one they have known their whole NFL career's. They both are older and have question marks as to whether they can perform at their old elite levels. Here are my two predictions.

If both Brady and Gronkowski stay healthy, the Bucs have a good shot at the playoffs. I do not think they are deep enough to win a Super bowl, but if they make the playoffs I think the year would be a success. Now the other scenario is like this. Brady struggles with a new system and coach, he ages and declines more than expected and does not have a year up to his standards. He does not mesh with his new skill players and the year is a wash. Gronkowski either gets injured and misses time or parties too hard while enjoying the Florida lifestyle. The Bucaneers will finish 9-7 or 5-11 depending on which scenario comes true.
